<p>What are my chances for Princeton, Yale (legacy: dad, mom, aunt), Stanford, Dartmouth, Williams, Harvey Mudd, Bowdoin, Carleton, Michigan, Wisconsin, or Maryland (instate)? If you help me out, I'll do my best to help you out too. Thanks</p>

White male, Maryland, top public school
GPA: 4.00 UW, 4.80 W (Top 5%, chance at valedictorian)
ACT: 35 (31 English, 35 Math, 36 Reading, 36 Science)
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 800 Chemistry, 720 World History (should I send this?)
APs: Chemistry 5, Calc BC 5 (AB sub 5), English Language 5, World History 5, Psychology 5, Spanish Language 5, Government 5
Senior Schedule: Advanced Programming, AP Physics, AP Economics (macro & micro), Multivariable Calculus with Differential Equations, AP Statistics, AP English Literature, Model United Nations, host tutor for AP Chemistry

<p>Your academics are good. As you know Princeton,Yale, Stanford are very competitive you need to get an extraordinary essay. Even your good academics falls down if you do not have an outstanding essay. One thing about Princeton and Yale is that they both look students outstanding in ONE field. Many are “good” in overall. They do not focus on all round student but a extraordinary student who shines in a particular field…</p>

<p>Talking about your chances they are good. Give it a try…I’m positive you’ll get in one of the Tier 1.</p>

<p>Why don’t you apply to some schools that mirror Dartmouth’s selectivity like Duke or Penn?</p>

<p>Stanford and Williams, two which you mentioned, do mirror Dartmouth’s selectivity. Are you more interested in a small selective LAC or a large selective university? Williams and Carleton are both fantastic. I went to Carleton and had a great experience in their Bio dept (and in all of the other classes) and it prepared me quite well for Northwestern Med School. Your grades, test scores, and EC’s are fantastic! You have an excellent chance of getting into a selective school. Do apply to several, since many valedictorians with perfect ACT’s are rejected from any given highly selective college. Good luck!</p>
