I have done the tennis team for 3 years heritage club VP/P for 3, Interact club for 3, Key club for 1, SNAP for 4, VSTA for one summer, member of NHS, and I have been working at a local summer camp for 2 years. I didnt see my recs so I am going to assume they are good.

My sister graduated in 2011

Also taken 2 AP's, the rest honors

And Im out of state

Rejected: UMD college park (so upset), fordham
Accepted: JMU, Fairfield

Your GPA and rigor of HS courses sounds very good and these are the things UD puts the greatest emphasis on in making their admission decisions. Hopefully you got really great grades in the AP classes you took and you did great your first semester of your Sr. year (this can really help and may even be the deciding factor). Your SAT scores are below the average for UD but UD does accept some OOS students with such scores (but if you are accepted I would not expect any merit aid). You did not mention which state you reside in or your major interest (these thing could have some bearings on your odds -certain majors at UD are extremely competitive). I don’t know if your sister graduating from UD would be a factor but it certainly would not hurt your chances. Your EC’s also sound good. I hope you wrote a dynamite essay-UD really does read these and it also may be a deciding factor in some decisions. While others might disagree with me IMHO, based upon the above, it is my perspective that you do have at least a shot at UD but it may be a little bit of a reach. Also congrats on the acceptances to JMU and Fairfield. I don’t know much about Fairfield but I do feel the academics at JMU are on a par with UD in many majors. Best of luck to you.

im from NJ and applied as Bio major. I think that would lessen my chances right because Udel is a BIGGGG jersey school? My common app essay was really good but that separate essay that they require was a only mediocre.

Everything is good but that SAT score puts you wayyyyy below the 25th percentile. It might put you below the cut off although I am not sure what it is…I think you should take the March SAT and get more than 1640 at the least to be on the 25th percentile…No matter how good the rest of your application is, this school is a reach for you right now…it also depends on how competitive this year’s applicant pool is…

Your GPA and extracurriculars are nice but as the posts above me have said, the SAT scores are low. Some people still do get in with lower scores however. Also, what major are you planning to apply for? I know UD has great nursing and chem engineering programs among others so those would be more competitive. You could have taken the ACT but the only option you have is Feb 9th…
