Hello Everyone! If you could just take a few moments to chance me for the schools listed below, I would really appreciate it!
Weighted GPA: 4.55
Unweighted GPA: 3.6
ACT: 29 composite (took test after having surgery, didnt have time to study. plan on retaking for a 31+).
SAT: 1280 CR(670)+M(610). I like the ACT a lot better, so I will most likely use that score once I re-take it. I know my SAT score isnt the best, Im debating retaking it.
Dual enrollments: ENC 1101/ENC1102 this year. All of my class will be dual enrollment next year
APs: 4
EC's: Intern in one of the judge's offices at the courthouse (im the only high school student who does this), volunteers in the magistrates office at the courthouse, Attorney for teens at Teen Court, Pre-Med Club, 1 year of varsity tennis
-taking a volunteer trip this summer to either peru or thailand to help needy children.

I wrote reach next to some because I didnt want any sarcastic answers saying I'll never get in to those schools. Please only leave serious responses! sorry for such a long list! but your replies will help me decide which schools to apply to. I live in florida and have qualified for the highest Florida Bright Futures Scholarship, just to give you some more information! Thank you all so much! If there are any other schools you think would be a good match for me, feel free to write them down!

Especially for UCs, your writing score on the SAT is important. How much is that score for? It’s not like you are going to apply at a CUNY or Virginia Tech…

Your ACT score is definitely better than your SAT score. Did you take ACT with writing? It is required by many schools.
Reach are high reach.

UCSC: Low match

You will need closer to a 3.75 for WashU and either 32-34 on act. and I it isn’t your number one or number two choice, don’t apply because you will get rejected. WashU likes interest

Thanks for the replies! asianas1: no it isnt my first choice, i was just thinking of applying (mom is encouraging me). what about the other schools?

Nobody can really assess your chances at any of these schools. Please remember that your chances are also dependent upon who else is applying during your year and what each institution is seeking. That being said, I agree that you should retake your ACT try to get the score higher. I think that you’d be competitive if your ACT score is in the mid 50% of each schools posted range.

Your unweighted GPA is a little bit low, and I would focus on trying to raise that. Some of the schools that you have listed, specifically Emory and WUSTL, look at demonstrated interest. By the way, WUSTL and BC also are one of the few schools on your list that super score the ACT (I would recommend checking with each school about their individual policy, as policies sometimes change and get updated). They will take the highest section score from various tests and recalculate a composite ACT.

My son also qualified for the Bright Futures scholarship, but he chose to attend WUSTL (He also was accepted to Boston College, Emory, and University of Florida, three of the schools that you have listed. If you have any particular questions regarding WUSTL, which I feel is an outstanding institution (full disclosure, I did not attend the school), then feel free to send me a message.
