<p>I am about to be a senior in high school and I live in Washington state.</p>

-3.83 GPA w/ 8 APs by the end of junior year, 12 by the time I graduate
-33 ACT</p>

-Tennis captain junior year and have been on team since freshman
-NHS
-Restaurant and tutoring job experiences
-Hospital volunteering at a couple places
-Nursing home volunteering</p>

-Duke
-Emory
-WashU in St Louis
-Northwestern
-Dartmouth (reach)
-U of Washington Seattle </p>

<p>Your scores are fine and everything. Definitely within the caliber of all of these schools. I’m going to be harsh for a second, but you have poor extracurriculars. Your two primary, in-school extracurriculars are tennis (a sport), and NHS (which most all top applicants have). Unless being recruited, sports don’t look as good as academic teams. And like I said with NHS, it is almost expected of top applicants. Jobs look good, and your volunteering is pretty standard for top applicants. That may seem harsh, but writing good essays may make up for it. Apply to all of these, however. If you really want to get into Dartmouth, consider their early enrollment program (I cannot remember if it is EA or ED), as it has a substantially higher acceptance rate than their RD.</p>
<p>AP scores? If they’re not all 5, then give up all hope now. The grades are solid, but shouldn’t you have a nonzero number of extracurriculars if you’re applying to top schools?</p>
