I'm female and Asian, and my sister currently goes to NYU but she's graduating when I'm applying. Will sibling legacy help me, even if it's only a little?

First off, I’m a volunteer at Spectrum for Living, too! I’m assuming you are a resident of northern NJ?? Anyway, I think you stand a pretty decent shot at NYU Steinhardt, even applying RD. Not sure of the average stats for that particular school - if they’re even available - but your SAT score is within the average range of admitted NYU students’ scores. UW GPA is a little low though, but I don’t think it will matter too much. Best of luck! **And a word of advice: I would not recommend taking the SAT for a 4th time (I took it twice and am just accepting my 650 Math score), but maybe you should try the ACT, which I think is more math-oriented.

yeah I live in northern NJ haha! bergen county?
and thanks for your input! i’m actually a more english person than math…it’s just that when it comes to reading comprehension on the SAT, I always screw up:/ I’m not a good test taker.
I’m really hoping that I’m within range for NYU Steinhardt.

I think you have a good chance. Usually legacy only helps if you are applying ED. I would strongly recommend applying ED, I think it would make up for your slightly low GPA. Good luck!!

@eateverycookie Yep, I’m from Bergen County and go to BCA in Hackensack. And I’m planning on applying to NYU CAS or Liberal Studies RD if I don’t get into my ED I/ED II schools :)
