Because of a month of hospitalization at the beginning of junior year and subsequent therapy, I received 3 C's, several B's, and a few A's first semester (I was taking advanced courses and it was very difficult to make up work). Second semester I received B's and mostly A's.

I am also applying to UCSD, USC, U of I, and UT - Austin.

I'd appreciate any help! Thanks in advance.

how come you have a 5.19 weighted GPA??

UCLA: High Match/Low Reach
UC GPA lower than average for UCLA but ACT is very competitive.
Explain your hospitalization in the additional comments section. Write great essays.

emily1212 - My school’s weighted gpa is on a 5 scale – AP’s are 6 and Honors level courses are 5.5. I’ve taken mostly honors or AP so my W GPA is over 5.

Gumbymom - Thanks for the advice!

Ohh!! I see. but great!!
GOOD LUCK!
