Colleges i have applied to

ED: Pitzer , i really loved this school (interviewed and visited): rejected
others : SCU , oxy , nyu, boulder , case western , University of Washington ,BU
UC’S: ucla , ucb , uci , ucsd (i like this one a lot ), uc davis

I really like liberal arts colleges but idk which to apply for any advice on that would be amazing !

my weighted gpa is like 4.2 /4.3 and what do you mean by asian study ?

UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Post weighted capped and Uncapped Fully weighted.

weighted and and capped is 4.2 and uncapped is 4.3
not counting senior grades since i don’t get them till jan

Senior grades are not considered by the UC’s for admission purposes.

UCLA/UCB’s decisions could go either way but for the rest of the UC’s you look like a solid applicant.

Freshman admit rate for UC GPA of 4.20 or higher:
UCB: 46%

UCLA: 53%

UCSD: 88%

UCSB: 88%

UCD: 89%

UCI: 97%

UCSC: 95%

UCR: 99%

UCM: 98%

Thank you !!!
I got an email from UCB asking for letter of rec ? Is that a good sign ?

Could be. I think that’s just a part of procedure for holistic review. Ask @Gumbymom

LOR’s are always a good sign since this gives you another opportunity to promote yourself. LOR’s last year were sent out randomly and from what I have seen so far this year, I still think it is random but the admissions officers may have seen something in your application where they wanted more clarification by requesting the LOR’s.

Do any of you know any good liberal arts schools I can get into by match with these stats?

Holy Cross, Worchester MA

i was thinking of either oberlin/ barnard/ brwyn mawr ???

at Gumbymom, where are you getting your data regarding Freshman admits with a UC GPA of 4.2 or higher? I’ve only seen GPA listed at 4.0 or higher. Thanks.

@hgparent: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/freshman-admissions-summary

Select Freshman admit rate and HS GPA and UC campus.

please recommend other schools to apply for
I really need a couple of good safety schools

Please bump only if there hasn’t been any comment in 3~5 days. You aren’t the only one waiting for comments.

Have you considered applying to the other Claremont schools? Just because you were rejected from Pitzer doesn’t mean you won’t get into Claremont Mckenna, Scripps, Harvey Mudd (If you’re majoring in math/science) or Pomona. All of the Claremont schools are highly selective, but they’re great liberal arts schools and they share a campus/classrooms/dining halls with Pitzer!

@djones24 i have considered maybe doing scripps , i just feel i am not competitive enough with my stats and ec’s for other claremont colleges

Have you looked into Occidental or Thomas Aquinas? How do you feel about Christian schools? There’s Point Loma of the Nazarene and Biola.
