Thank you so much for your time!

Hula Dancing?

You'd probably get in
not sure about getting any $$ though

and how do you have over a 4. UW??

I have no idea how it is over a 4.0 UW. I asked my guidance counselor what my unweighted was out of, and she said 4.0. Yeah, I do hula dancing, and perform yearly at the international folk festival in pittsburgh. When I did my interview, the person who interviewed me just couldn't get over it. How could I increase my chance of even getting the smallest scholarship? My essay is going to be on my experiences as a non Catholic in a Catholic school.

I agree with EuiHyunLee. To get aid, you'd have to raise that ACT score :(

But you think I'll get in?

Yes, especially since Case needs girls. And it's merit aid that you aren't likely to qualify for. You'll still be eligible for financial aid like any student.

ok, thats cool. I don't think I'll qualify for financial aid, but my parents can afford to send me to case.

I'm so jealous that you hula dance! It looks like so much fun, but I don't know anyone who does it around where I live

I love love love hula dancing!!! It is probably my favorite activity behind MT. When I had my interview at Case, the guy who interviewed me absolutely loved that I do it! We practice all year long, and then we do a huge festival. In 2009, after my freshman year of college, I am going with my hula group to the world hula conference in Hawaii- I went to Hawaii this summer, and I can't wait to go back!

Interesting.

what, the hula?

Yes (BTW I wanna go to case too.)

I also assure you, you'll get into Case.
Although I wouldnt want to get your hopes high tooooo much as, there is always the chance of being rejected. But comparing your scores with mine- I'm pretty sure you'll get in.
although I hate to tell you that your IB work isnt going to really count- I have an IB diploma and it really didnt get me anywhere- not as much as all the people I know that did AP instead. And its a bit annoying cause I put a lot of time and effort into IB and I dunno I think we should have recieved a bit more credit for completing the program.

Yes to recieve a scholarship and not finanicial aid- which I would say Case is very nice in giving (the financial aid that is, if you do qualify for financial aid, looking at your scores I'm pretty sure they will give you a nice package, although that does depend on your need) a higher ACT score might be needed. I would advise you in retaking it-although if you are going to play a varsity sport- completely different story.

class pres is impressive. hula dancing is unique. yep, you'll get in. As far as merit aid, that ACT score may keep you out. Your essay idea is very good, i don't know how good of a writer you are. Expressed intereest with you admin counselor is a plus. keep your hopes up and good luck

I got a 1300/1600 on my SAT. Will that help?

While 1300 way above the national average, it still puts you in the upper end of the middle 50% of the students at case.

My daughter received $15,000 a year for 4 years. She only had a 3.8 GPA, however attended a very competitive private school. Her ACT was 30 and she had good rec and over 500 (highschool) volunteer hours. She did apply EA. Hopes this helps.

on the oct. act, I got 29. however, I don't think it will be in on time. My 1300 is still the best, though.

oh. maybe you can do better next time. retaking the ACT???
