This is how I categorized my list:

High Match: U Chicago, Carnegie Mellon

Match: Brandeis, NYU, Boston University

Safties: Cuny Honors Hunter, Binghamton, Penn State (University Park)

AA ftw....

whats ftw?

for the win. it's gamer irony.

Or if you read the letter backwards, it says an entirely different thing.

ok soo guys...lmao ..chances are???

I think you could have a shot at most of those schools only if your ACT wasn't so low. But who knows? An African American like you pretty much has game anywhere. I think you categorized yourself pretty accurately.

yeah im retaking in december hoping for a 30 plus

anymore views

Oh well, affirmative action screws all the asians over. D:

Wow.. there seems to be.. ok never mind im not going to start this kinda of conversation. How did you do ikwame with Yale because Im guessing you applied early... my friends name is Ikwame....

ian, i think your guesses are pretty much correct. except uchicago is a reach as well. and you need a really good math sat ii score for carnegie mellon.

for nyu, keep in mind that since you're in nyc, you're competing against all the stuy, bronx sci, brooklyn tech people, so make sure you apply to the college of arts and sciences.

i'm pretty sure that you'll get in to all of your safeties- probably most of your matches and who knows- maybe an ivy.

good luck!

to OP: I'd agree with your predictions right there

if your SATIIs went well (700+?), I'd give you a darn good shot at cornell

how is your school so competitive without offering a high number of APs?

regardless... i say that if you raise ur ACT to 30+, with decent SAT IIs I see no reason why you couldnt get in to any of your schools (URM will help)

a good essay plus recommendations (considering your school is competitive these will put ur application in a really good light).. the essay if it can be creative, well written will also help with ur Ivy league appplications.. im sure u can do this as u have done well in other essay/poetry competitions with ur safeties and regular matches i see no problem in you getting in with your current ACT (with the exception of NYU- slight reach as of now IMO)

pretty on the money, uchicago might be the only reachish school.

ok guys..so my sat two scores are 690, 690, 700.. i know bad.. and 29 ACT,,what an improvement? (sarcasm) and I was deferred early from Yale. (sad face) but i will keep my hopes high... thanks for everyone who chanced me..and i will chance..whoever wants to get chanced back
And my school is competitive, were a specialized high school, higher than Brooklyn tech..we don't offer many AP courses because we're knew.. but we really do send an amazing amount of kids to ivy league schools.. of about a class of 90 about 10.... and my friend just got into Brown PLME early...
