Hey everyone. I know April 1st is just around the corner. But please let me know what you think of this:

Applied to Pratt Engineering.

Rank: 3/750

SAT Critical Reading: 690
SAT Math: 780
SAT Writing: 680

SAT II Physics: 770
SAT II Math II: 780
SAT II Biology: 740

AP Physics B: 5
AP Biology: 5
*I have also taken several other AP classes for which I will take exams this year.

My essays were decent and my recommendations were good also.

I am involved in orchestra, Key Club, President of National Honor Society, UIL Computer Science (a few medals), and UIL Science.
I attended a summer college program at Stanford this summer.

My interview went well also.

Please be honest but not too critical, haha. Thanks a lot!

I'm a to-be Duke '12, so I don't have the authority to tell you much. But I did get in ED with 7 other kids from my school, so I know the acceptance profile pretty well (if there is such a thing...). Anyway, if my two cents is worth anything, here it is:

Ranking is of course excellent. Keeps you in the pile, gives you a plus.

SATs are solid - not spectacular, but strong enough. (And, btw, mine were significantly poorer...)

APs: Cool, sounds like you are on the Pratt path.

ECs are solid as well.

I can think of only two reasons why you wouldn't get accepted: (1) You didn't stand out enough. (2) They aren't 100% positive you will come. (Although it is hard to judge since I don't know if you gave them any indication of this.)

In other words, all this may depend on your essays.

Either way, you are going to get into a great school.

Hey, thanks a lot. That's a little more encouraging. I'm kinda worried 'cause I applied for a Biomedical Engineering major and that's one of the harder ones to get into. We'll see.

Anyone else, please feel free to leave your opinion.

Well, you don't technically apply for a major at Duke - you just applied to Pratt. The admissions committee doesn't evaluate prospective BME majors any differently than ME majors even though BME is more popular. You don't have to declare you major until the end of soph year and they encourage you to take courses in different depts freshman yr.
