I am a senior in high school. I will have taken a total 9 AP classes including AP Chemistry and AP Biology. All the rest of my other classes are honors level. My gpa is 93.1 and I made mostly A's with a couple of B's throughout high school. My unweighted gpa is like 3.67 and weighted is like 3.8 . My Sat's are 560 in verbal, 640 in math and 590 in writing. Clubs- Math team, Beta, Mu Alpha Theta, MSA, Science Club. I am an Indian male and moved to USA during my freshman year of high school. Do you think I have any chance of getting into Georgia Tech ? Thanks in advance for all you guys' help.

pretty low is my guess. It depends on whether you got awards in your EC's.

Your SAT is low, 1200 (Math+Verbal). Your GPA is fine, but it doesn't look like your EC's are strong. I'd say your chances are on a low side. Are you instate?

to Feez, yes I am from Marietta, Georgia.

Also, I have strong volunteering activities. During the summer of my sophmore year, I volunteered at the informatin desk at a local hospital. During my 11th grade summer, I volunteered at a hospital back in India and during my 12th grade summer, I volunteered with an organization for helping out homeless kids here in Georgia. I received certificates for all these activities as well.

Well, if you're instate and your volunteering experiences are good, then your chances increase greatly. I'd say it can go both ways. I'd recommend retaking the SAT if you can.

do u guys know if Georgia Tech will look at your senior year grades ?

not when you apply, they won't.

however, once you get admitted, GT will ask you to send your transcript over and they will be able to see your first semester (or whatever term you go by) grades.

^Yeah, he's right. They basically just want to make sure you didn't fail anything.

hey i lived in Georgia for 1 and a half year but my residency status in the application shows that im a non-resident. Do you think this is by any chance might affect my admission or reduce my chance of getting in.

Well...if you're officially marked as non-resident, then I think it does reduce your chances of getting in.

Do Georgia Tech look at your highest SAT score in each section or do they bring all the scores into consideration ?

Pretty sure they superscore, so the highest score in each section.

yeah they do. Everything is ok except for SAT

yea i would say your math is kinda low specially for the college in mind, idk you stand a solid shot idk i myself am wandering if i would get in.
