Please chance for ED. Anyway, is it a hook to be jewish? I am just wondering since I am half although non-practicing.

weak extra-curriculars + average stats=probably won’t get in. Sorry dude

If I was able to get my sat’s up to 2300+ would I have a better chance?

it is totally not a hook to be jewish.

you need to apply ED to give you a better shot

write really good essays

Not a hook to be jew. Overrepresented like asians.
Expand on EC. just being in a team is nothing. College DO NOT look for well rounded students, they look for well rounded CLASSES.

Ignore that.

However, I do agree that your chances at Penn are slim. If you end up applying to Dartmouth ED and don’t get in, you’re ****ed at Penn. Echoing SusieBra, you need to apply ED to even get a serious look.

Increasing your SATs to 2300+ would be nice, but that’s not going to get you in. Your scores right now will not keep you out, but your ECs will.

Cross-apply my advice from the Dartmouth thread. If you really want to attend an ivy league school, I’d recommend Cornell ED. If you hate Cornell, go for Penn ED–it’s your best bet.

Read all the admission books and i believe you will find similar if not exact wording for what i said. A for Admission, How to Get into Elite College, What it really takes say the same thing. You cant be a “jack of all trades, master of none.”
That ends you in the reject pile.

Your GPA needs to be a bit higher and your ECs…Well, it has already been stated. Anyways, nice SATs? I would try ED, because if you don’t, your chances will be even slimmer(is that a word?.

@asianatlab-you don’t have to be “master of none” to be well-rounded. you can simply be very good in all areas of academics and apply as an undecided major.

As far as extracurriculars, however, you need to show some very serious passion somewhere to have a shot. That is why slapshot probably won’t get in
