PLease chance me :)

Hey guys!! Please chance me.

Stats:
SAT single sitting: 2110
SAT II: Chem: 710, CHinese:800, USH: 690 (I still need to take MATH II, but i'm sure i can score 750) ( i'm gonna retake chem i'm sure i can get 750+ because i walked in on it first time)
GPA: 4.02 unweighted
Ranked: not sure, but top 5%
EC:
2 years missions trip + was a leader
Varsity basketball: 2 years, captain 1 year
Varsity soccer: 1 year
volunteer: About 300 hours at local hospital
2 years Light crew: stage manager

i'm most likely gonna major in Chem.

:) thank you.

I’m finding impressive stats, especially the 4.02 unweighted. I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Your stats are great, but make sure your personal statements are great too. Good stats are nothing without a good essay!

Take the SAT1 again and get a higher score. What is your weighted GPA?

one wonders how u get above a 4.0 if its unweighted…

^ He must have gotten over 100% in some of his classes by extra credit opportunities. that’s all i can think of…

But I think you have a very good chance of getting into UCLA with those stats. Just write good essays and you should be fine.

The first thing UCLA looks for is someone who can properly state their weighted and unweighted GPA.

Binks, please take your just graduated high school haughtiness elsewhere. It is infantile and nothing short of disgusting and stupid.

Some schools weigh A+s at 4.33s, so this is probably what the OP has done. Each school weights GPA differently also.

He may not know that he needs to report only As and Bs without the +s and -s on the UC app.

^^^ You really believe that I think I’m hot **** because I just graduated high school… please. Get over yourself. High School was so boring and repetitive, I’m glad I’m actually going somewhere where people use more than half a brain cell each day. And no offense, but if the op wants to know his chances at UCLA, then maybe he should do some research on how the UC apps work and how the UC’s computer GPA.

If this person is so interested in UCLA, it is in their best interests to get familiar with the UC application process and get ahead of the game NOW!

I am not sure if your out of state or not.
I personally was an in-state applicant who got in.
I will chance you as if your an in-state student.
So first off great SATs, Good Extracurriculars ( I like how you have leadership positions which are a big plus)
Your GPA is good, but I would look at more of 4.2 for a solid chance.
Anyways overall good chance =) I hope you get in!

One more thing. You need to spend some quality time on your essay. This is really crucial because it might be your way in or out. I personally spent 2-3 months on it. But I like to write so yea =) Just brainstorm your senior year as it starts and then start writing drafts around the end of September on and off till the deadline.

Hi, could you guys chance me?

AP Calc AB: B/B
Honors English 10: B/A
Chemistry: C/C
AP Chemistry: B/B
Wind Ensemble (Marching Band): A/A
(NOTE: I took a very rigorous chemistry class that basically squeezed two years of chemistry, regular then AP, into two semesters of high school. It was very tough, the teacher was super tough, and even though I did poorly in the class, I, as well as many other kids, did extremely well on the AP and SAT Chemistry Exams).

Junior Year:
AP Physics B: A/B
AP US History: A/A

AP Biology: B/B
Wind Ensemble (Marching Band): A/A
Calculus II (semester-long college calculus class, taken by few juniors and few students in general at my school): A
Calculus III (same story): B

I did a lot better I think my junior year compared to sophomore, although i seemed to lose a bit second semester.

AP Scores:

As a final note, I’m hoping to write my essays on my taiwanese heritage and/or maybe some experiences I’ve had at one of my extracurrics–not too sure at the moment.

I know my GPA is super low, especially relative to other UCLA admits, but I’m hoping desperately that my other achievements might increase my chances.

Thanks for the help!

i think the GPA is the main issue. other than that your scores are impressive and your ecs are pretty good…so try to bring the grades up and write good essays

well an A+ might be a 4.2…that’s what it is at my school unweighted.
