I really, really want to go to GA tech. It is number one on my list and number 2 is a very very distant second. Here are the goods:

Varsity Tennis - 4 Years
Ranked 3rd in State - Spanish Testathon

All State Mathaletes

Drama Club - Lead in a couple of Plays

I know that my GPA is my problem but there is nothing I can do at this point.

Please share your thoughts and give advice as to possible improvements between now and early application.

Thanks.

Ouch. That GPA really hurts. What’s your class rank?

The ACT is obviously excellent - 75+ percentile, but with that GPA… it’s hard to say. Your Freshman Index is a 3141, which is below average for Tech.

Honestly, it’s anyone’s guess. I haven’t seen any applicants with similar stats, so it’s hard to say. If I had to guess (emphasis on the “guess”), I’d say Tech is a reach school. I will say that I would be more surprised if you get in directly than if you received a Waitlist / AASU / Summer offer.

class rank is top 25% - Very Very competitive school… Lat year there were 52 graduating senors… Acceptances to Princeton (2) Harvard (1) Stanford (1) Duke (1) and many other medium to top tier schools. Is this taken into consideration?

Does GA Tech use that Freshman Index? If so, how?

BTW I got an F in english in 9th grade … retook it in summer got A but does not count towards GPA. My math and science GPA is 3.75 unwieghted.
