Does anyone know when will I receive my decision if I applied as early as October?

no, don’t know

You should hear from them in late Feb/early March for RD. It’s possible you’ll be admitted, but you don’t have a strong chance since neither your SAT or GPA are meeting their average. Probably depends on the applicant pool for this year. Good luck!

If you are of Asian or Latin descent, you will have a better chance. If not, I hate to break it to you but you will most likely not be admitted but there is still a chance. Make sure you apply NOW and have good reccommendations and well-written essays to better your chances. Try retaking the SAT… I have a feeling the adcom will be more selective this year- Average SAT for last year was 1200 and GPA was about a 92. Hope this helps.

Consider Rutgers- it would be much cheaper for you since UB is an out of state school for you and you don’t meet the criteria for scholarships

I am of Asian descent and I believe that I had written a solid essay pertaining to my interest. I applied to Rutgers around the same time as UB and the tuition rates are about the same.

You sound like a well-rounded person which colleges seem to like. Some people with a 4.0 do not even get accepted sometimes because they are not into everything that you have been doing. I think that that may make up for your GPA and SATS that are a drop below average. Good luck to you.
