I would like to know your guys' opinions on what my chances are at these schools? :)

Female, Asian, foreign-born (which will be the topic of my essay: how I came here from a poor background when I was 6, etc. etc.)
GPA: 4.22 (weighted), 3.73 (unweighted)
SAT: 800 (CR), 780 (WR), 630 (M) - total of 2210
SAT II: 780 (LIT), 720 (USH), 680 (M2)
Rank: 2nd decile out of 297

Coarse load:
-Took no Honors or AP classes sophomore or freshman year :-P
-3 Honors, 1 AP junior year
-4 AP's and one Honors this year (senior year)

AP's:
US History - 5, English Language (independently studied) - 5

Misc:
Approx. 50-70 community service hours
President of Speech and Debate 11th and 12th grades
President of French Club 12th grade
Won school French Award 10th and 11th grades
National Merit Commended Scholar

For the sake of chancing, assume that the essay will be sensational and the recommendations pretty stellar (hypothetically) :]

The reason for the relatively poor coarse load/GPA/rank is that I transferred 10th grade and my new school refused to let me into any "hard" classes because they thought it would be too rigorous for transfers. Could I possibly include this as an excuse in my apps if it would make me look like less of a lazy bum to the adm. officers?
