Please chance me

<p>Hey, first time actually posting and i'm really hoping someone can help get a better picture of my chances of getting into texas A&M
gpa-3.205
sat-1370 out of 1600 (r-720 m-650)
nat. achievement semi
around 20 dual credits
class rank around 50% (i know this will hurt me Q.Q)
any input would be helpful!!!</p>

<p>im also an OOS student
and i had all of my papers processed by nov. 17</p>

<p>please, if anyone could get back to me, it would be great</p>

<p>amhopeful, I have no idea. Your scores are good, but your class rank may hurt you. You are oos and again, I have no idea what they look for in OOS kids.
the problem with having high scores and being in the bottom the half is this, will you apply yourself in college? - you didn’t in high school. You are smart enough, but that is not all there is to being in college - some kids just do not do well in high school and it means nothing, they flourish in college - but are they willing to take that chance with an oos kids? I don’t know. I hope they do accept you. But your stats and your situation aren’t common on the forum. We don’t know what to say to you, so we keep quiet.
Did you go to any A&M camps? Show any interest in A&M? Did you make an official campus tour? Why do you want to go to A&M? What is your major? All of these things make a difference.
I do wish you the best!</p>

<p>when ur class rank is low, but your scores are good, the only way to have any kind of hope is to have stellar extra curricular activities but since you’re oos, I am not sure on this one. sorry :(</p>

<p>thanks for the responses. The reason my class rank is so low is because my class size is really small 59/109. As for extra curr. i was in symph orch for 4 years, and taekwondo for 4 years, though no academic type extras (nhs, student council, etc.)</p>

<p>and no i haven’t done any visits. I didn’t really even hear about this school until they contacted me for nat. achievement. I also realize that my situation is odd, which is why im so worried XD
I am planning on going into computer engineering</p>

<p>your class size is not the reason of your low class ranking - unless you are in a specific college prep school where everyone has the kind of stats you have, and in most of thoes cases the schools don’t rank. (for that specific reason) you arn’t even in the top 50% you are in the 54th percentile - the the 3rd quarter of your class.<br>
You are in the hands of the review committee, and we do not have any ideas on what will happen for you. Best of luck to you.
Where else have you applied?</p>

<p>i would say that if you haven’t heard by now you will be waiting a while.</p>

<p>my D had her papers processed at about the same time and we got a decision about a month ago.</p>

<p>I applied on Oct. 21st, my gpa uw is a 3.3, class rank around 33%, sat 1940, act 30, loads of EC’s, and taken all AP classes every year, as well as 2 varsity sports, 3 languages, and 6 jobs, president of 2 clubs, I received my acceptance letter today, but yet again I am in state. Good luck, your stats don’t look too bad, I would send in your mid-year scores if your first semester senior year grades have bumped up your gpa and rank a little.</p>
