Please chance me!

I have been accepted at Penn State and Notre Dame, and I am waiting to hear back from Virginia Tech, Duke, Wake Forest, and Carnegie Mellon. It'd be great if someone could chance me on those schools!

I have a 3.8 unweighted GPA (my school doesn't do weighted)
I will have completed 6 APs by the time I graduate- Physics, Calculus, English, American History (4), European History (4), and Gov (5).
Otherwise, all of my classes are honors level.

I got a 2120 on my SATs (M-730, CR-700, W-690)
I also took the SAT IIs but didn't do as well as I could have- (math I- 600, physics- 570, history- 630, english- 650)

I am involved in a number of ECs. I am president of the Interact Club at my high school, secretary of student council, vice president of the senior class, I was co editor in chief of the school newspaper (had to quit this year due to scheduling conflicts), I do track and cross country, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society. I taking painting lessons, attended a number of prestigious journalism conferences, and a few other things. I have a part time job, and I am very involved at my church. Additionally, I volunteered at a Christian camp over the summer, and did a few other programs in the community. I might be missing a few, but I think you get the idea, haha.

I'm not a minority, but I am looking at engineering. I've heard that it can be beneficial to be a female in engineering.

And I think that pretty much covers it (:

Virginia Tech - In
Duke - Reach
Wake Forest - Unsure
Carnegie Mellon - High match

BTW, your SAT score has the same breakdowns as my sophomore SAT, except that I had a 700 M, 690 CR, and 730 W! Just thought that was pretty cool, lol.

Also, this thread needs to be moved to the “What Are My Chances?” forum if you want to garner more replies.

Virginia Tech - In
Duke - Low Reach
Wake Forest - Never heard of it?! haha
Carnegie Mellon - Low Reach

Id say you have a solid GPA + SAT scores. However, your SAT scores might not be competitive enough when compared with other students applying to colleges like Duke and Carnegie Mellon. SAT subject tests will hurt you but since you are obviously “over the top” when it comes to EC’s, I wouldnt worry about it.

Btw, have you gotten anything special in xc or track?

Haha thanks guys (: and I’ll definitely take your advice and move it… actually I only do Cross for fun, it’s not like I’m a track star or something but it’s a lot of fun (:

Do you have a hook? like a special talent? I know a girl who had terrible grades/scores (much much lower than yours) and she got into Carnegie Mellon because she played cello very well. You’re in Virginia Tech, definitely.

Are you from NC? If so, i’m pretty sure you’ll get into Wake Forest with no problem. Duke is a maybe (if you’re from NC). Even if you’re not from NC, you shouldn’t have a problem with Wake Forest.

Good luck!!! :)
