I know it was long, but I appreciate your info very much.

Also, if you want I will chance back (but i'm not sure why people say that because if you need to be chanced, you obiously don't ahve experience and don't know more than the person you are chancing) haha.

-UChicago: Match
-Williams: Low Match
-UC Berkeley: Low Match
-UVA: Match
-Duke: Low Reach
-U of Maryland: Match
-Georgetown: Match
-U of Michigan: Match
-Oberlin: Match.

It’s almost impossible to chance Ivies or Stanford.

I disagree with that last part. It never hurts to have a second opinion, and we know at least something about college admissions if we’re on here all the time chancing each other. Plus, it’s not necessarily true that someone who has never asked to be chanced knows more than someone who has. If you could judge yourself, then what would be the point of this forum?

^ SgtDonut is being too generous with respect to a few of those schools. UChicago, I would say, is a low reach (it’s about the same in competitiveness as the lower-ranked Ivies these days). Williams is also quite competitive, more so than some of the schools that SgtDonut indicated as being matches; it should be considered, at the very least, a high match, probably a low reach. Even with the new incentive to accept more OOS applicants at the UCs, Berkeley is a low match for almost no OOS applicant – certainly not this one. Moreover, Georgetown should probably be considered a low reach.

But these labelings are rather arbitrary; I just felt compelled to point out the inconsistencies in the above post.

You’ve taken eleven APs by the end of sophomore year? Or are you just making assumptions about your AP scores?

^ Yes, that is quite a lot to have already completed.

I ama junior, but yes i ahve taken some of those APs over the summer.

^ Please clarify then: have you already received all of those 5’s?

^ I have. It does sound a little ridiculous I know. But why would I lie to CC?

It’s certainly possible; we just wanted to clarify.

Yeah, we were just confused if the scores were projected or actual. Hey Silverturtle - is it true that colleges don’t really care that much about your AP scores?

They are generally not as important as other standardized tests, but they are considered, especially to provide more meaning to the grades you received in the corresponding classes.

Hey Silver, can I PM you my stats for you to take a look at? I’m not comfortable making a chance threads since my awards are really specific…

The reason my GPA is 3.75 is because I got 2 Cs my sophomore year. Do colleges look just at GPA or why your GPA is the way it is? In other words, are they going to care about the Cs?

^ um… your ECs seem like a laundry list so far… can you please specify leadership positions, awards, etc? :)
