There is more but thats most of it. She is an OOS student (Long Island). We have done the visit and she has spoken to reps at school fairs.

She has been accepted to Penn State, Rutgers, JMU and UMass so far. Still waiting on UMD (duh) Udelaware, Syracuse, Geneseo and William and Mary.

I think she has a decent chance. I wouldn’t say she is a definite admission. Sometimes out-of-state students need even higher stats to be admitted. Her 1220 SAT is within range. Her waited GPA is good, but could be a few points higher.

Good luck to your daughter! I hope she becomes a Terp.

If I were to guess I would say freshman connection. (Not that my guess means anything!)

The problem here is that you say you are from New York, Long island to be exact. UMD receives a lot of applications from this area, thus making it more competitive.

Being OOS and from NJ or NY is definitely tough.

Maryland is very numbers driven. I know a couple local kids with straight A’s and SATs close to what you report. One was accepted; one got the spring entry. Best wishes. Hope she gets good news.

I think you daughter has a good chance. I’m thinking freshman connection also but their numbers change from year to year also so she could just get regular admit! I wish her all the best of luck!

Also, @MDdad2012 could you possibly take a look at my thread and chance me! I’m a prospective c/o 2017 student wanting to know my chances! Thanks!

thank you to everyone so nervous its our outright first choice and we fell in love with it immediately. I hope its tomorrow good or bad…so stressful
