Do you know if she is going to retake the SATs? Based on the information you have provided us with, I would say:
UC-Berkeley -low reach
UCLA-low reach
UC-San Diego-high match
UC-Davis-match
UC-Irvine-match
Stanford-reach
Cal Poly-high match
Chapman University-match
If she can get her SAT scores up I would say she has a good chance of gaining acceptance to most of those with the exception of maybe Berkeley and Stanford:)

O ok, that does help. It’s usually the third or four thing colleges look for so while it does not guarantee acceptance, it can be beneficial to the applicant. Having said that, I would say that UCLA and UC Berkeley would then be high matches.(It can be hard to tell, they both have average applicants with around 4.1 GPAs as well, though at least she will be competitive:)

If she retakes the SAT and scores higher, she has a good shot at all the UCs. As it stands now, I agree with the other posts. Stanford will be a reach and she should/will get into Chapman and Cal Poly.

This is directed to your girlfriend, not you, so glance in a different direction.
Please do not get offended when I tell you that unless you have a gift for writing, do not apply to Berkeley and UCLA. Do not do it because your parents urge you to. Do not do it because you have legacy. Do not do it unless you passionately want to lead a successful undergrad career at either of these 2 schools. If you had the brains, you should have left your boyfriend, cared about school enough to put in the effort to build a strong application, and not pay attention to anything I’ve just said. @MikeFos123
If she can not get reassurance from you as to her college chances, I hope I have conveyed something truthful for the both of you.

I truly believe she can get into all of the colleges, except Stanford. We both know its a high reach. She wanted a thread on here, so we wrote one together.

Please dont ever respond to this thread again.

Wow babydragon, what’s up with that post???

…and I don’t think legacy changes anything for public schools.

Oh and good chances everywhere, will probably get into at least UCLA or Cal, maybe both if lucky. Chances would be greatly improved if the SAT scores are improved.

If you feel this confident of her credentials why do you ask for our opinion? And since you are reading this with your girlfriend, I suppose this is some sort of comic relief for you two in an otherwise boring day.

The post is blunt but honest.

Glancing at few of your other threads, it seems that you are absolutely unsure of your chances, unaware of the competitiveness of college admission, and reluctant to accept the fact that you will be severely disappointed at the results next year. Do enjoy senior year with your girlfriend as she will need you more than UCLA!

The average at UCSD is probably somewhere around 1950-1975. The average gpa is prob about 4.1 (Weighted, not UC). I have a feeling that GPA is weighted more heavily then SATs, however a lower than average SAT score could hurt you more than an average SAT score will help you. So, even a 2000 won’t guarantee anything.

Your GPA is also below average for Berk/LA.

That’s not to say you won’t get in. But, don’t think it’s guaranteed.

If I had to guess, as it is right now, purely based on statistics, I’d say:

SD: 55%
LA: 25%
Berk: 25%

In at the other UCs.

Maybe this will help give some perspective:
