Thanks ! I'm going to apply early decision to Northwestern
Anything i can do to better my app?

Georgetown is certainly a reach. But you’ll probably be okay for NW. Good luck.

There is a thread that was in the ‘chance’ forum yesterday (so is probably down a page or two) called “top colleges ranked by difficulty of admissions” that uses IES admission statatics to give you a more objective gauge of the difficulty of admissions relative to selectivity.

I am not sure of JumpingJulias credentials and knowledge of Georgetown or Northwestern University but the avg SAT and ACT scores of applicants accepted at Northwestern are higher than Georgetown. They have almost identical and daunting rates of admission and about the same as Duke:both about 19% according to an article about NU that was in Barron’s last week (my daughter is also looking at these schools).

So in my opinion, you would actually have an easier chance of being accepted at Georgetown than you do at Northwestern. Duke would likely be just as difficult as Northwestern, with the U of Michigan less so (but still a challenge). But you should certainly apply to all of the schools if ED doesnt work out for you. Best of luck to you.

The particular formula used was chosen by a high school student, i.e., no college experience.

Knowledgable folks have been trying to do this for years. It’s just a caution to readers.
