For the additional essay I wrote about how my name (Eseiwi) means a “gift that is never lost” in my Nigerian Edo language and described the impact of having such an unorthodox name and how I’ve drawn a sense of self and cultural identity from it - so the intended meaning eventually came true in my life

Other schools I have heard from so far: Accepted: Northeastern, Purdue, SUNY buffalo, Rutgers, Northwestern, Duke(likely letter), Cornell (likely letter). Waitlisted: Uchicago, Deferred Early action: Harvard, Rejected: MIT(No interview though which may have hurt me a lot)

My Councillor received an Email from admissions lastweek and the officer wrote “I have been asked to see if (me) and (my friend)have sat for AP tests for the AP classes they have taken. If they have taken those tests and you have access to the scores, can you please email them to me to attach to their files.” Since decisions are coming soon is this a good sign? Like that they are still considering me. I feel like if they weren’t at least a little interested they would have rejected me way before the week before dday you know? What do you guys think?

I think they must be at least somewhat interested, or they wouldn’t have bothered asking for the scores. That said, everyone’s chances of getting into these top schools are very low, so there’s no real point in anyone “chancing” you. Not too much longer to wait now—good luck!

well, i was going to say you have little chance of acceptance, but then i saw you’re black.
Being a URM definitely helps!

So sad that being an URM is what they deem as important.

@Nyxrex: what crystal ball do you have into the Princeton admissions offices? You’re single line diminishing of this candidate is rude. you have no idea what this person is truly about.

Your attitude mirrors those who suppose that most every black faces at a campus such as Princeton you feel is simply there b/c they’re black – or strongly suspect so. That’s patently unfair.

@Nyxrex And you claim you were waitlisted at GA Tech because you were white too. (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/18208812/#Comment_18208812)

You have some serious anger issues focused towards black people. Two of your three posts just drip with that anger. How’d you do improving on that SAT/ACT from last year?

I was referring to the comment before mine. Get off my back.

I GOT IN WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
