Please chance OOS for Engineering

<p>Before I spend a few hours on the essays I'd like to know if I have a realistic chance at UIUC Engineering, specifically aerospace and/or mechanical. </p>

<p>GPA - 3.80 UW
Rank - 38/355
8 AP classes - Scholar with Distinction
ACT Comp - 33
English - 32
Math - 33
Reading - 34
Science - 34</p>

<p>EC's are lacking. I play ice hockey 9 months out of the year, work P-T for a water resources engineering company, and play in both the school Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. I do volunteer work connected with NHS and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. No leadership roles. </p>

<p>My spare time is spent in the garage working on my '68 Chevelle SS396. Wondering if I should mention that in the "interests" essay.</p>

<p>Very good chance. Talking about working on car in and of itself, no for interests essay; talking about working on car and relating it to interest in engineering and science that goes into mechanics of car and you got yourself an essay.</p>
