Hey guys what are my chances for UVa. It is by far my first choice, but I realize that it's extremely difficult getting in if your out of state.

Rank: 2-239
GPA: 4.0 - 4.0 (97.5 Average for all 4 years) (7 APs)
ACT: 30
SAT IIs: 730-730-750-650 (World and US History, BIO - M, BIO - E) (Majoring in Bio and History)
ECs: Varsity Soccer (Captain), Varsity Cross COuntry, National Honor, Beta, ~250 servive hours for church (btw I'm Asian), work - ~20 hrs/week
Essays: the main common app essay was good, the two supplement essays were better i think
Recs: 2 great ones

I sent in my mid-year report. (A's in all 4 of my AP classes)

i posted a chance thread a few months ago, and i was told that my chances were pretty slim because i’m an OOSer. i had better stats and about equivalent ECs, so i think you’re in the same boat.

CrystalPineapple thanks for the reply…and i looked through all your posts (ya i’m that desperate) but couldnt find your chance thread…i was looking for it to compare my stats…but oh well whatever…

so my chance pretty much sucks? i see that people with 32-34’s ACT scores have been getting likely letter…so i guess those people are the really strong candidates…and for everyone else the ACT average migh be lower?

^^agreed…it’s definitely difficult but entirely possible

i don’t even go to one of the so-called “competitive” high schools and last year 4 students got in who were in the top 5% but none of them built rocket ships or anything. in fact, all 4 ended up matriculating. i think those stats are really strong and are definitely competitive for admission :)
