Take the SAT at least one more time, for one thing. Get straight A's. Write a killer essay, get good recommendations. It's not rocket science, you just have to get it perfect.

thank you for your response sibelius (I like his pieces btw)

What about my chances at these schools at this point? I really screwed my straight A's in 9th grade first semester

UC colleges dont look at freshman year. only at 10/11th

yes but unfortunately most privates do

Your profile looks good except for the SAT. Get that CR score above 730.

At this point, which schools would be considered highest matches?

all schools are reaches except UC's

oh geez, one B will not kill you. in fact, even three wont do disastrous harm.

UPenn Huntsman ED-ooh idk enough about this place
Stanford-reach
Harvard-reach
Princeton-reach
Yale-reach
Columbia-hmm...high high high match?
UCB-match
UCLA-low match
UCSD-safety
UCI-safety

Is your name Lawerence by any chance? I'm willing to bet.

Alright, I'll be honest with you: You have really good chances with the UC's; UCB isn't selective enough to pass your stats up.

However, Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale are all clear reaches. Keep in mind though, nobody can truly consider these schools matches/safe matches.

A friend of mine had a 4.0 GPA freshman-senior (validictorian), slightly better EC's than yours, 23-- SAT score and turned down by stanford early decision. Waitlisted at Harvard and Yale though, accepted by MIT, UCB/LA, and likely everywhere else,

Best of luck to you. Your stats are top tier but you need to distinguish yourself from other applicants a bit further. While admissions officers will be impressed by your numbers, you need to be someone truly outstanding. Try to earn more awards of distinction to appear truly well rounded. I mean no offense, but Math League, Piano, high school paper editor etc. are very typical of applicants. What makes your application so powerful is that you have all of these going on at once; however, colleges look for true dedication in activites than just an endless list of EC's. In my opinion, your documentary project and the numerous awards bolster your chances the most. Because your EC list is considerably longer than most, how you demonstrate your passion for learning and the experience you've gained in your high school years in your essay is critical. You should have no problem proving that you aren't just one of many piano playing math geniuses.
