i've participated in various science and mathematics competitions (although I didn't win much)

Additional stuff
I'm hoping to pursue a double degree in psychology and economics. I've just taken Economics this year and am finding a real passion for it. Could you comment on what schools are particularly good in these fields. Especially in the research area, because I would love to do research in the 2.

I'm hoping to take SATs I at the end of this year. My practice scores currently stand at around 2050(estimated, because I didn't get my writing tested). I'm going to do a lot of prep and hope to get around 2300 by the end of this year.
For SATs II I'll be taking Maths, Chem, Physics, Lit (for the learning, not really for points because I'm not great at it), Spanish with listening. I'll be taking these at the middle/end of next year.

For my essays, I predict they will be pretty good because I'm starting to prepare for them now (brainstorming and practicing how to write - I believe practice makes perfect, and by the end of next year, I'd probably nail them ^^)

Thanks so much for helping me out. Please include any schools that you think may be a good choice for me:)

oh and for legacy: brother was in Stanford class of 2011. Hope that has some impact :)

Oh by the way I know that my portfolio is not really great and it may be hard for me to get into these schools but can you give me some advice on how to beef up my portfolio? thanks so much

NUS: Reach
Stanford: Reach
Columbia: Reach
U Chicago: Reach (how good are your essays?)
Duke: Reach
Cornell: Reach
Berkeley: Aim for 2100+/31+
SMU: Aim for 1950+/28+

thanks
but wow that’s scary :frowning: a reach for nus?? i was thinking nus would be a match for me…

i reckon my essays would be pretty good because I’ve had quite an interesting life  but i’m still brainstoriming so it’s early to say

NUS is at the same level of selectivity as Ivies…

I think it’ll be easier for me to get into NUS as compared to the Ivies because I’m a Singaporean and well, NUS has a high percentage of Singaporeans  but it’s better to not get ahead of myself, so thanks for warning me! By the way, do you think there is anything in particular that I should try to improve to boost my chances? I’ll be attending university in 2015 (Singapore school system is half a year slow) so I still have some time left :)

NUS is about as high a reach as Cornell… are you sure Nanyang Tech isn’t an option?
