From your extracurriculars, you seem like a very interesting person. If that were the only consideration, I’d admit you. As for the scores, they’re really not so bad. While you may not have great scores, I think that they are acceptable. Overall, I’d say don’t stress so much; I don’t think you’ll get rejected everywhere.

Why was I rejected… :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :(

Anirudha1993,

May I ask if you’re from an affluent family? You have done much to affect your community in a positive way, and the resources you must have to do so may be plentiful. I think you are experiencing a lot of rejections because you have a lot of very good, very prestigious awards from different fields of study. This might sound like an oxymoron because you would think awards would equate to the Ivies and Top 20’s/Liberal Arts would pay attention. Consider this: what is your focus? What are you really passionate about? From reading your activities and outside of class endeavors, it seems that you have a lot of projects going on… How do you handle founding/presidential roles at all these clubs? What are their impact on you? Remember, the college admission officers not only look for awards and recognition, they are also looking for authenticity, direction, and a depth of character. Now, looking at your grades (coupled with your numerous activities), your transcript seems to go in a decline. You started with 90’s in your 9th year then ended up at 70’s in your 12th year. That is also a sign of why you were rejected. They want you to balance your extracurricular activities with your academics. After all, college is about academics first and foremost, then its positive effects in the community. You are not a bad applicant by no means. You show initiative, drive, and breadth for extracurricular activities and helping others. What you need now is to prioritize and illuminate what is really important to you as a student and as a person.

^ Thanks … :)
