Hey guys I just got rejected from duke, northwestern, and wailisted at u chicago. penn was my top choice and i wrote a 2 page why penn? , wrote a page 217, and sent in 2 essays additional. My interview was 1 hour 30 minutes too.

I really want to go to Penn and was hoping if someone had stories of people who were rejected from top schools but got into penn.

I want to cheer you up!..I really do…but not at the cost of unreasonably inflating your expectations. On the bright side, IF you manage to get in, it will come as a wonderful surprise. One way or the other, almost everyone ends up where they belong. Come next year, in all likelihood, you’ll be so thrilled with where you are, you’ll wonder how you could have even considered transferring. :)

i got waitlisted at uva and northwestern within hours of each other (on thursday).

all i can say is that hopefully we all get some luck, no one factor can bring you down terribly-- everything has to be a package (case and point, someone not even close to the top of our class got a scholarship to princeton for soccer).

im not too hopeful, although penn is my top choice, my two and three were taken from me. maybe ill just end up having a really easy decision.

good luck! i mean, what’s the worst that can happen, you have fun for four years at a state university, keep your gpa up and go to an amazing grad school!

^princeton doesn’t give athletic scholarships (same w/ all ivies) but they’ll get people in for athletics as long as the applicant meets certain standards

I got rejected from Cornell, wait listed by BC and Bucknell, didn’t get into Schreyer’s at Penn State, but hey now I’m a sophomore at Penn so yeah, the college game is pretty random.

thats what i like to hear ChrisW, i got rejected from GT and UF, but into UGA, UMiami, and a billion other places, hoping I get into Penn outta nowhere.
