Please comment about The Sophie Studios (21st Ave NE) near UW!

Anyone that knows anything about The Sophie Studios near UW, please feel free to comment!
Background: As I am neither a local resident nor am I able to be in Seattle before Fall, I will be unable to visit this apartment which I have found online and developed interest. First of all, it would be best if I can know whether this apartment really exist on the 21st Ave NE and not a scam. Anything else is secondary, but, much welcomed too! (You may comment about noise level, neighborhood desirability, etc.)

Thanks!!!

I’ve conversed with the person in charge, Tracy, a lot. Have I seen the place? No. But from what I have gathered it is legitimate. Only once the satellite images become updated will all uncertainty cease.

Thank you very much!

I went to the construction site and the building looks terrible. The area is dirty and the building seems to be very crowded and the windows are small. It feels like a bird cage. I looked at their website, which seems nice and the price reasonable, but the truth is, I don’t think I can live there at all.
It is just my opinion. Maybe the fact of construction makes things look messier. However, think twice before signing your 1-year lease. Go there and have a look personally.

I’d be careful about making any sort of deposit via wire, etc. Anyone can make an authentic-looking website and add a g-mail address.

I would NEVER rent a place unseen…even if it’s legit.

Do yourself a favor, at the very least stay in a hostel when you get here and dedicate a few full days to checking out apartments and finding one to rent. (consider calling and setting up viewings before you get here though)

When I moved to Seattle, I did that and found a good one same day.
