Currently: Animation and Game Design and Fine Art (Drawing and painting) majors at Kent State University. Strong interests in game design and concept art (digital matte painting) and conceptual/fine art/editorial photography. Absolutely stuck on where to go from here though.

Option 1) Stick it out for four years here at Kent, unsure of what the new curriculum for the new major will be. (will finally be a four year major starting this coming year but I'm afraid it will be more engineering and less anim/gamedesign driven) Keep the double majors (Anim/GameDesign + Fine Art/Drawing/Painting) and teach myself everything about digital matte painting with the refined practice thanks to the second major. Save money for the meantime, but skip out on the possibly more exciting and more in depth and concentrated classes at SCAD. Skip out on possibly dropping the (potentially useless) fine art major and picking up a photography major to better my skills there. Work for a few years before applying to grad school at SCAD or elsewhere.

Option 2) Stay at Kent until the end of next year. Transfer to SCAD. Major in either Animation or their Interactive Art/Game Design major, minor in their Conceptual Game Art minor. Possibly double major in the above. Possibly do one or the other and their Painting major. BUT I feel like I would obviously be more attracted to their Photography major though instead since they don’t have the drawing with the painting which would be useless either…. and maybe by then I’d be back into my old drawing niche anyway so I won’t need the traditional major.

I’ve pretty much just accepted that I’m going to be paying back loans for a while. But it would take ages to convince parents that SCAD would be good for me.

I'm very determined to make both of these creative passions work though. Somehow. All I need is some sort of directional advice and everywhere I look I can't get any. I've posted this three times but haven't gotten any help or advice other than a couple people. Anyone have any experience at SCAD or recommend another university?
Anyway, thanks for your time if anyone ever responds. :
