Hello everyone,

I'm looking for someone to read and critique my Common App essay. I'm looking for experts who are NOT highschool students. I've poured my soul into this essay, and I'll only let a few people who I trust and respect read it. If you're interested, please state your interest and credentials. You will do me a great service by critiquing it, and I'll be truly grateful. I am a competitive applicant, though I won't state which specific schools I'll be applying to, for confidentiality reasons.

Note: I will do research on prospective readers before pming my essay.

Thank you very much!

Credentials, lol. This is like college applications all over again
. Let’s see…

I’m a college sophomore at a Top 20 school. I’ve been on CC since 2012 and give a lot of advice in the College Admissions, College Essays, and Majors threads. I’ve edited 5-10 people’s essays on College Confidential, which I started doing in the past month or so.

I’ve also edited ~450 people’s undergrad essays, grad school essays, SOPs, and personal statements on Essay Forum over 2 years. I’m familiar with editing essays ranging from those by international students and engineers (which tend to need some work, lol) to students applying to Ivies (which tend to be really good, as I’m sure yours will be
). I can give spelling/grammar help as well as content help.

I don’t know if these things make me “qualified” or an “expert,” but I love editing and I’d love to read your essay. Also, since you’re trying to stay confidential, be careful, because people can do research on you too…
