Ok so my ideal major would be Biochemistry so that I can end up going to medical school, and than after a couple more years specialize in toxicology ..
However UCF does not have a Biochemistry major ..
but when I visited UCF .. I LOVED IT ! the school campus was amazing and etc etc but they do not have my major or any special biochem/toxicology program for that matter .. so my question is
Should you stop considering a school if it does not have your major ????

Since most college students change their major at least once, I wouldn’t rule it out. As long as there is a similar major that would allow you to achieve your goals (bio or chem perhaps?), keep an open mind. Try to get a meeting with a bio prof to see how their program might fit with your goals.

I also have a question (that I probably should of added in the original post) but would my major even matter since I plan on going to med school ?

You can major in whatever you want, so long as you complete all the pre-med required courses. So it only matters in the context of you enjoying and being interested in what you are studying :).

The UCF Chemistry program states that it would prepare you for graduate work in toxicology. You could also explore the Forensic Science program as well as graduate courses in Biomolecular Science or Chemistry. I would also suggest you look into opportunities at the UCF Medical School, maybe internships while an undergrad. Good luck to you!

Woah thank you all so much … I’ve been thinking and reading lol and I guess I would not rule UCF out ill just change my major to chemistry and complete the pre-med requirements

Biochemistry is among the worse performing majors for rhe MCAT. Just keep that in mind if medical school is your goal.
