Please ease my mind...

Hey All,

Alright, I currently go a CCC in the greater LA area and I am planning on transferring soon, very soon. The deadline as we all know is November 30th for the prospective 2011 students. I HAD a great gpa of 3.8, however, due to some difficulties my gpa dropped down to a 3.6 (current as of summer 2010.) I am in the Alpha Gamma Sigma Honors Affiliations, I made the Presidents Honors list and Deans Honors list, I am in the honors program at my school, and have completed 54 units. My question is, since the application deadline is November 30th, will my current GPA of 3.6 be primary focus on my app or will I have a second chance to submit my transcript with an updated gpa after my winter and spring 2011 semesters?

Any help or words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated.

Some (other) helpful info:
-Poli sci and/or history major
-planning on applying to ucla, uci, ucsb, and some other private schools

Thanks a million,
Alan johnny

your grades for fall 2010 will factor into their decision, so i hope you’re taking at least 12 units this fall and ace them so maybe you can hopefully bump that gpa up to 3.7. even right now with that 3.6 i say you have a really good shot, especially because you’re in honors. make sure you write a killer personal statement and have a lot of extra curriculars and you’re almost for sure in, but if all that matters to you is getting into ucla, you’ll have a better shot by applying as a history major. & you’re definitely in to those other uc’s you mentioned

aww snap, thanks for the confidence boost :)!
To build off of that, since I apply around next month and they give me winter and spring semesters to finish up my courses, will those two semesters factor out in my overall gpa? as in can I send an updated transcript after my spring 2011 semester?
