Im not an expert in the admissions game (all I know is the general public policy studies around it, e.g. The Early Admissions Game), but I'd say you have a decent chance. Emphasize your genuine interest in the school and in learning itself. Above all else be true to yourself about your goals in going to college and it'll show up in your essays, interview or whatever else they require. (I believe its a common app school, so you can choose your essay topic and elaborate on one activity that matters, make sure you say something important, not reiterate boring facts or supposed honors).

You might want to get your test scores up if you can, but don't worry if you don't. Dartmouth tends to have higher average test scores than most Ivy league schools (e.g. Brown or Columbia), even though its not really any more selective--so presumably just more test-score oriented, though its not a big deal I'd imagine.

anyone else???

your SAT composite is like mine
we have similar ECs as well

i have 700s in both chem and Bio but only a 630 in 2c cuz i fell asleep after during the test after going to prom and coming back at 4 am >_< stupid stupid....

BUt u look like u have a decent shot

great ranking, u are not concentrated only in one area
u have music on ur ECs, and sports, and something volunteer (museum = volunteer?)

however, u should try to raise that verbal score on ur SAT if u can IMO..
the writing is great, but colleges dont really have enuff stats to compare u against previous years.

So good , hope u get in

I have to disagree. Your SAT is more than 100 points below the average at D. Your SATIIs are low as well. Your ECs are very average. I just don't see it, this year will be harder than ever.

what the heck are u talkin about

dartmouth average sat scores are not 2230+

Dartmouth isn't counting writiing so the OP has a 1340. Average for the
'10s was 1480.

That 1480 is for accepted, not enrolled. 2005 enrollees had SAT of 1437 according to PR, so would still agree that it's unlikely the OP has more than a low chance. Don't let that stop you from applying and presenting your best case. Most candidates, including many that get in have more than a low chance. Just make sure you have more likely back-ups.

I;ve interviewed for four years and my guess is it will be an uphill climb. Its due to the test scores, I advise studying. Boost the SAT CR and you have a much better shot.

I think the PR data is a couple of years old. my number comes from admissions.
