i am going to take sat II's this may..i was thinking math level 1, us history and chemistry or physics..which do you guys think i should take physics or chem? and what scores should i aim for on all three?

if i felt like i had a real shot at stanford i would apply ED, but thats what i'm asking you guys

i am also looking to apply to dartmouth, cornell, northwestern, georgetown, university of chicago, upenn, u michigan

not sure of safeties just yet..

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

Firstly, Stanford has EA (not ED), which is not binding.

Your GPA is on the low side, but does not rule you out.

Your extracurriculars seem unexceptional, though the foundation for leukemia is intriguing. It will be interesting if your essays reveal your motivation for starting the group and how the process to establish the foundation has gone. On that same vein, to give you a good chance to get in, your essays will have to be stellar and revealing. Top colleges, I believe, want to know your personality, your passions, and that you have a drive to learn and excel. Perhaps next year, you can come back to CC and people can help you with editing your essays. Remember, WHO YOU ARE is quite important.

I am not sure of the official stats, but you should definitely aim for 700+ on your SATIIs. I know that on the SATI, 70% of incoming freshmen last year had 700+ in each section. The higher, the better, of course. As for physics or chem, neither one "looks better"; you should take whichever you feel more comfortable with.

I encourage you to continue your devotion to extracurriculars, and take the time to reflect on why you do what you do, what you have contributed, and what you have learned. Also keep those grades up =]
