I'm a sophomore with political science major. However I also want to study to become a pharmacist. My schedule is as follows:

Chem 6C with Johnson
Poli 133A
Physics 1A with Lab
Econ 1

or

Chem 6C with Johnson
Poli 133A
HINE 107 (GE history class)
BILD 1 or 3

So the first concern is between schedule 1 and 2 what is more preferable
I'm also wondering if pharmacy schools would like physics 2 series or 1.

I don’t think they care about the difference. i imagine most admissions committees don’t even know the difference. I say, take whichever track you think you can get decent grades and knowledge out of.
I don’t know about the poli and hine classes, but I think chem 6C and bild 1 or 3 is an easier combination (better grades) than if you took 6C with physics. it depends though; are you good at physics? do you like it? and how about chem, bio? if you’re like most people, BILD and chem will probably be easier together than chem and physics. if hine 107 is a hard class, you might be better off with the first schedule since econ 1 should be ok.

Yeah just take the best combination of classes that you think you can do well in. Also if you’re starting Physics 1A in fall, you’ll probably have more classes and sections to choose from just because it’s on track for biology majors, not sure about other majors. And that goes for the other physics classes if you continue to take the entire series one after another. Also I suggest taking the physics 2 series unless you are seriously good at physics and really enjoy it. You’ll have stiffer competition since math heavy majors like engineering are req’d to take it. I also heard from my friends that it is far more difficult than the 1 series, and I’m sure an A in the 1 series would look much better than a C in the 2 series any day, especially for your GPA.

Ah thank you. I liked biology in high school. Anyways, if most people prefer bild and chem then i think i will go with that as well. I’m intimidated by physics but it’s good to hear that admission people don’t really care about which series to take. I heard that physics 2 series is very difficult. It’s really hard to know what they want… like would they want math 10 series or 20.

I actually found PHYS 1B incredibly easy. Easier than BILD 1 and 3. But PHYS 1A and 1C where probably a little harder than BILD 1 and around as hard as BILD 3. But of course it can depend on what professors you have. I might have had a completely different experience otherwise. It’s just my opinion. I would recommend taking the schedule that allows you for the most flexibility in the future.
