Please evaluate my stats and give me ur opinions

I was wondering if anyone on this forum or knows of anybody who transferred into any colleges with low SAT scores? I Know that UC's don't bother with SAT scores for junior transfers

Below is my info..

High School
GPA: 3.0
SAT: 960
SATII: None
EC: Drum Major and Vice President of my 120 member marching band

^ As you can tell, I didn't really try too much in HS and worried about partying more than school..

Currently at my CCC..
Major: Sociology
GPA: 4.0
Units: 68 semester the Spring prior to transfer
Major Preps: Will complete after Fall Semester
TAP (UCLA TRANSFER ALLIANCE PROGRAM): Certified
IGETC: Will be certified the Spring prior to transfer
EC: Honors Leadership Team, Honors Ambassador, AGS, PTK, Honors Scholar, Deans list
Work: 15-20 Hours a Week
Letters of Recs: Already know a couple professors including my honors director who is willing to write me excellent recs.
Interesting Background: Lost a parent in 6th grade which led to several hardships which changed me into the man I am today. I will definitely write about how that has changed me and made me into a responsible grown up at a very young age.

What do you guys think of my chances at these Colleges?

Applying to in the Fall: UCLA, USC, UCB, Claremont Pomona, Claremont Mckenna, Cornell, NYU, Brown, Columbia,
Applying to just because my uncle is paying for me to see if I have a chance: Harvard, Yale, Stanford

Any kind of feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

960 SAT? Why not take it over again.

With my work, involvement on campus ( I might run for Finance senator of my school which will make me in charge of budgeting $700,000 of the "College ASB" money), and studying for my 6-7 classes per semester and other things leave me very little time to study for the SAT's. This is why I'm trying to see if colleges automatically cut you off no matter how high your GPA is

UCLA/UCB = Match

colleges love to see improvement. Your bad HS stats may contribute to an inspiring essay.

So should I even attempt to apply for the Ivy-League colleges or just save myself the couple hundred dollars?

The SAT scores shouldn't mean much considering your stellar college record...

I really think you should retake the SATs. Even if you don't have time to study, considering all you have learned you gotta do better than a 960.

The biggest thing they'll be looking for is what you've done towards your future career. What is your job? Hopefully it's linked to the sociology major. They'll want to see scholarly papers published in your area, ecs linked to your field of study. The ivies take so few transfers, it really is about them looking for people who need the school to keep their scholarly pursuits going.

Yeah, I totally agree with you Suze. I want to continue on after undergrad to get my MBA so I definitely want to get into the business field and become part of marketing or PR division

If I'm applying for so many colleges that require letters of recs, does this mean that when I approach my professors, I let them know specifically where I'm applying to so all they need to do is change the header and the name of the college for each different college? This is actually my first time applying for any colleges that require letters of recs. Anyone have experience with this issue?
