I am a liberal Arts person with limited knowledge in this area...

What about Harvey Mudd, one of the Claremont Colleges (with Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Scripps & Pitzer.) It is a really good Engineering school and maybe easier to get into than MIT/ Cal Tech.

Also I believe Rochester & Carnegie Mellon are good, and many state schools have good Engineering depts.

Probably other threads on Engineering programs on the Parents Forum I bet.

someone I knew was deferred from MIT with a 1550+ SAT and over 4.0 GPA and lots of ECAs.... so don't count on it. I would say you have a shot if you write some good essays and get some good recs. Nice job though and good luck!

Reaches: MIT(MIT engineering is VERY hard and they want to see engineering talent, not ECs that dont have to do with engineering)
Slight Reach: Stanford
Matches: UC berkeley, UCLA,
Safties: USC, UCSD
