so prompt 1 asks me to write about how my world has influenced my dreams and aspirations.
i plan to write about my family and how they affected my goals.
do first describe my family and then go on to explain how it has affected me?

How should i describe my family? do i just literally describe my world?
how do i show and not tell?
how do i make it interesting and unique?
what is a excellent example of a response and an average one to this prompt?

There is no formula for this. People have different sort of backgrounds and you can give some idea of yours however you like. I think it helps to open with something interesting or surprising. You show by giving examples of what you mean. Interesting and unique will help if you give details and show your own point of view. But not a plodding literal list of things. Obviously you can’t include everything so you have to be creative and pick what will illustrate the most important points. An excellent example will be vivid and interesting and show how you think of the world. An average one will be vague or generalized or not moving from one place to another. Most will be average to below average. I wouldn’t worry about what other people are writing.

So think what parts of your background will give the reader an idea of how you grew up and what kind of values you were exposed to. Then think what you want them to know about your dreams and aspirations. Find examples in your life of what kind of person you are and what you have done to improve yourself.
