You have very good ecs that may help distinguish you. Unfortunately the two most important prices of information are transcript and test score. Obviously your class rigor is excellent but your GPA is way on the low end for a lot of these schools. Same goes for your SAT. Maybe your class rank will help allieviate some of the academic concerns, but it will be hard. If you write killer essays though, there is no reason why you can’t be accepted, and have other parts of your application overlooked. Good luck!

Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1418125-chance-me-duke-other-top-schools.html</a></p>

Honestly you have a very good shot at most of your schools especially a competitive private school. You never know how they will respond to SATs maybe if you took them in December you could have a chance to get them higher but if not try not to stress out.
Some schools like UPenn JHU U Chicago you never really know what they are going to do for any applicant no matter what the circumstance.
If you capitalized in your essay especially on your business it would definitely help.
You should be a good applicant and you have a lot of leadership experience.
Good luck you should be fine.

Cornell AEM (applied ED) - low reach
Vanderbilt (I have legacy) - reach
Duke - high reach
UChicago - low match
Dartmouth - high reach
Penn - high reach
Columbia - high reach
Brown - high reach
Johns Hopkins - low match

Good luck

I think that you are split down the middle between reaches and high matches/matches except for UF and UMiami which should be safeties. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1425392-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

Honestly i think that most of the schools you mentioned are reaches, but i think that you have like a 50% chance of getting into at least one top university. UF and UMiami are safeties. Good luck.

EC’s make you stand out so much. The fact you supported your family is really going to make you stand out. Lots of leadership activities. Rigorous course work coupled with your school being a prep school makes up for (relatively) low GPA. SAT scores are in line with 50% percentile at ivies. Just a high school student like you, but i would say shoe in for everywhere except ivies and Chicago (because of essays).

Wow you have a very impressive courseload and ECs I would say that you’ve got a great shot at getting into all of these schools. Best of Luck !!

I think you have a good shot of getting in everywhere. Your SAT scores and weighted GPA are awesome. Good luck!

it seems like you have a good shot Cornell ED especially because they don’t look at writing. your class rank is also very good and though your extracurriculars aren’t the strongest, they are very thorough. should be good for the non-Ivys and have a good shot at one or two of those

hey fellow cornell ed!! i think you have a great chance. great ecs (nice tutoring business, def stands out). low gpa and sat… but taken into account with class rigor and ecs you should be okay (also cornell doesnt look at writing yay!). you have a good range, penn, chicago, dart, johns, duke, columbia, brown all reaches with low gpa and sat. cornell low/med reach, george low reach, rest=safety. good luck! chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1427201-cornell-chances.html</a></p>

Because of your High class rank you stand a very good chance at all these schools, however do not forget to mention all of this (your rank and the difficulty of you school), just make sure to incorporate a " I learned _______" instead of a complaining or excuse “attitude”. You should be good,Good luck to you!

Cornell AEM (applied ED) - low reach
Georgetown McDonough - match
NYU Stern - match
Vanderbilt (I have legacy) - high match
Duke - reach
UChicago - match
Dartmouth - reach
Penn - low reach
Columbia - reach
Brown - reach
Johns Hopkins - match
University of Florida - safety
University of Miami - low match

Those are just my guesses! Your SAT’s are kind of mediocre, but shouldn’t hurt you too much. The rigor of your courses is incredible though, as well as your EC’s. I would say that you are probably in at LEAST half of these schools, probably even more. Good luck on getting your results! :)

Cornell: Reach
Georgetown: Reach
NYU Stern: High match
Vanderbilt: High match
Brown: Reach
U Chicago: Reach (write stellar essays and it becomes reachable)

Duke: Reach
Dartmouth: Reach
UPenn: Reach
JHU: Low Reach
UF: Match-Low Match
UMiami: Match

Maybe find some more match schools and some more safeties? It couldn’t hurt!

Low SAT for your choices, low UW GPA
SAT IIs are very strong, LOTS of leadership positions, a truckload of APs (you better have gotten 4’s and 5’s on them, too), and starting a business is really unique

I chance on a number stale, 1 (low chance) - 10 (high chance)
Cornell AEM (applied ED) 8
Georgetown McDonough not familiar w school
NYU Stern 9
Vanderbilt (I have legacy) 8
Duke 4/5
UChicago 4/5
Dartmouth 7
Penn 7

University of Florida - low match, since you’re in FL

Good luck. Both your GPA and SATs are a ‘bit’ low for a lot of these schools, but you have a good looking list, and should get into at least a third/half of the schools.

Cornell: Low reach

Your SAT and GPA are great generally, but on the low end for a lot of these schools. That could hurt you because they generally reserve those spots for legacies, athletes, etc. However, you have really unique Ecs that could distinguish you. You’re a reach at the “reach for everyone” schools, like Chicago and Cornell, but your application is pretty solid and I wouldn’t be surprised if you got accepted to all of the schools… Good Luck! :)

Cornell-high match
Vanderbilt-match
Duke - high match
UChicago-low reach
Dartmouth - high reach
Penn-high reach
Columbia-low reach
Brown-reach
Johns Hopkins-low reach
NYU Stern- high match

i think the biggest weakness is your GPA, but your class rank and combined 1600 are def. up there. wish you best of luck! chance back?
