Please give me a ballpark estimate for RD chances!

I REALLY like this school, and I wan't to apply Regular Decision.

SAT: 690 W, 700 M, 720 CR = 2110 total.
GPA (my weak point): 3.1 unweighted
Senior Course Load: Chem II Honors, Econ Honors, AP Stats, French 4, Regular English, Intro to Java and Music Theory.

I'm a white male
ECs: Play music a lot, recorded an album put on iTunes with friends. Cross country/Swimming/Track. Sailing, this I plan to do in college.

Wrote my common app essay about my two brothers and how I get my engineering/sciency side from one brother and my music side from another.

I want to double major in Computer Science and Music Recording.

Thank you all!

I think you are really qualified! You have strong stats and a strong academic schedule, plus good EC’s! I was just accepted under EA and had around the same stats as you, maybe a bit lower. Good luck!

Given your high SAT, why the low GPA?

Thank you nikoru! Congratulations on your acceptance! and TomSrOfBoston, its pretty much for two reasons, 1) I go to a pretty challenging private school and my courses have been pretty hard as well, but I can’t blame my gpa entirely on that, 2) I have spent most of my free time in high school playing music or sports and never gave as much effort to my studies. I know this is a lame reason but it’s who I am.

I shouldn’t say that, I worked really hard in high school and deserve some credit, I go to a hard school and take hard classes!

I think you have a good shot
