Please Give Me Your Opinion: Should I take the AP Exam?

Hi. So this year I took AP Chemistry. Now, I’m doing pretty alright in the class but, I know I just won’t get a 5 because there are a lot of units I just don’t understand. I’m thinking of not taking the AP test because all the colleges I wanna go to won’t accept anything else but a 5–occasionally a 4. Will this hurt me in any way? Even if I took it and got, say a 3, and the college won’t accept it, isn’t the same thing as if I didn’t take the exam altogether?

Also, I have AP Stat and AP world history so I’d just be wasting an extra $90 for nothing

what do you think?

I don’t think it would hurt you, and you save the $90. You might surprise yourself with a 4 or 5, but if you’re not confident in the material it would be better to re-take it in college anyway.

Some colleges will give you “credit” for a 3 but not placement out of the required course. But that’s actually of minimal value.
