Hi,
Please grade my essay if you would please. I would like to know where I stand on the essay portion of the writing section.

Question: Do changes that make our lives easier not necessarily make them better?

Changes that are meant to improve our life and make it better do not always make it better. This can be seen by examining several things that have drastically changed our lives.

The first example of something that has changed our lives is the internet. The internet has taken over our households and allows us to communicate with the world and allows us to find things quickly and efficiently. The internet however like all things has a dark side, this dark side can be things such as pornography, people pretending to be someone younger to gain the trust of an adolescent and trying to corrupt or harm them. This dark side alone shows that the internet while it can make our lives easier it doesnt make our lives better.

The second example of something that has changed our life is E-mail. E-mail has become a major way for people to communicate with family members, friends, business associates, etc. While this is a great thing because it allows people around the world to communicate it too doesnt make our lives better for several reasons. These reasons are centered around those who would take advantage of a persons gullibility and scam them out of money.
An example of this is people emailing someone out of the blue and asking them to help them with transferring X amount of money to your bank account and as an incentive they offer you X amount for your trouble. This is a scam that many people fall for annually. The people get sucked into the scam and give them their bank account information and then they are told that they must pay certain fees in order to get the money and also that they should send X amount of dollars via wire services such as western union. People also are scammed by people offering college degrees with no testing and all you have to do is pay a certain fee. This is also another way people get scammed via email.

The third and final example is satellite television. Satellite TV allows for people to watch a variety of shows on many dozens of channels. However while it makes our life easier by giving us a great amount of choices it doesnt make our lives better. People are exposed to things that they may not want their children to see but that they would probably see due to people not knowing how to protect their children from programming that they find objectionable. This is why satellite TV doesnt necessarily make the lives of people better.

Many things exist that are designed to make our lives easier and less burdensome but they dont always make our lives better. This can be seen by looking at many examples of technological innovations in the last century. Ultimately it is up to the individual to make choices as to what they allow and do not allow in their lives
