Please help a student that wants to apply next year=) Thanks

Hi,

So I am planning on applying to SC, UCLA, UCI, and UCD, but I really have some questions!

I mean, I never really thought of this before, and I hope you guys can answer these questions honestly( i don't care if you put your own bias in there, that makes the better) I want your opinions on these questions too!

1) How is the diversity(as a UCI student already attending there) when your in class? When you walk around do you see a crowds of basically one race hanging with each other, or is everyone intergrated?

For example: Your in class and there are 30 white students 10 Asians 5 hispanics and 3 black students in the class

or when you walk about the campus you see only whites hanging with whites asians hanging with asians and so on and so forth

2.) Is there a strong minority force at the school? Do you know much about the minority activities or hear about it atleast once or twice a month, less than a month, or not at all?

3.) What about the Frats and Soros? Do the students only know about the majority white frats and soros? Do the other soros and frats like the asian pacific, spanish, or Black councils have a presence at all?

I really would appreciate your answers to these questions. They don't have to be thorough, but atleast a little informative so I can know about the school a little bit.

Also, if you don't mind can you provide your ethnicity, its optional if you want to.

Thanks!

The crowds are really integrated, but yeah, there are hoardes of Asians here, I’ll tell you that. Then again, it’s not like there’s even enough of other races for them to group up together, but yeah, we’re at a time when race doesn’t really matter much. I know what you’re getting at, but yeah, no, it’s not like Hispanic kids hang out with each other and such. There are few instances, but mostly, the groups are really integrated…

Don’t really get what you’re talking about here…

I don’t know much about Frats and Soros but there are a lot of Asian Frats that are well known throughout campus, like I said, this is a majorly Asian campus so yeah…

Personally, I’m Indian, but yeah, I do have to ask what race you are…It’s honestly not a factor here and there’s no reason anyone who’s not Asian should be worried about coming here. Sounds like you’re Hispanic or Black or something, and it’s not like they’re all segregated or sitting within their own groups or something, unless they’re just personally avoiding everyone else.

At UCI, whites are the minority. hth.
