Please help, about Cornell and Carnegie

Hi, my friend has been accepted to Cornell and Carnegie but for Cornell she'll only have to pay about $10000 whereas for Carnegie she'll have to pay $25000. However, she would rather go to Carnegie than Cornell so I have a question if it is possible to inform Carnegie of Cornell's offer and ask if they could make a match. Does anyone know if this is possible? I know of someone who made a deal with Columbia and Duke this way but can this be done with Carnegie and Cornell too?

Thanks for your help.

i know carnegie tries to match offers

Cornell has a lot more money available, so it might not happen, but it’s worth a try.

You should always try to negotiate. Cornell and Carnegie are competitive with each other but I am not sure how much $ CMU has to offer.

CMU is one of the few schools that openly encourages students to send in financial aid offers from other schools. They try to match it, if they can.

Thank you everyone for your help!
