hey everyone i have to decide in 2 hours if i should change a class to pass no pass, a friend of mine brought up that pass no pass might look bad for grad school and some grad schools even consider a "pass" as a C. does anyone know if this is true? is it BAD to take a ge class pass no pass?

thanks!
jon

Depends what class. If it's a class that's vital to your degree or major, then I would say it would look bad. Otherwise, if it's an elective, or one that's not required for the major, then I don't think it would have any impact.

Completely fine, much better than a W in my opinion.

the class has NOTHING to do with my major it's a geology class and i'm a bus/econ major, so if I take it pass no pass it won't look like a C and thus lower my gpa on grad school app?

Blah2009 what bout a B or a Pass? which one is better?

I don't think anyone can definitively say that.

Though I imagine if you think a B is such a terrible grade you need to drop a class, then you need to pick up some perspective.

what? what are you talking about , i never said anything about dropping, i'm asking which one is better on a transcript B or a P

thanks for the help for those who helped, time's up i ended up taking it pass no pass thanks again guys

I pass/failed a Geology class also, which dealt with earthquakes, volcanos, glacier formations...etc. Was doing horribly and ended up with a C but it showed up as a Pass on my transcript. Would have been my lowest grade ever otherwise so it was a wise decision. In the end, got into most of the best engineering schools.

thanks blah! for your help
