i am about to submit my application but am unsure which major would be easiest to get in, i am looking at either business (management), (which i think would be harder), biological studies, science-business, or should i try some other random major such as American studies or something in the other college jsut to get in? i have strong grades in maths and sciences. thanks

You apply to the First Year of Studies so they don't consider your major when you are applying. It is just used to help schedule your first year classes (although I believe you can call in and change that before registering). Pick whichever major you think you would be most interested in. You choice of major will NOT affect your chance of admission.

thank you so much. i am leaning toward the science-business or bio for the record

so if i choose "program of liberal studies" as my 'intended' major it really has no impact? (on my admissions dec.) cause i'm not really sure if that is what i want to do, it just intersts me at the moment.

or should i just pick an easy major to just get in just like what jcg1323 said?

It does not matter what major you list--you are grouped into the First Year of Studies program. The only difference is if you are interested in Engineering; you have to take an Intro to Engineering course along with the other required First year of Studies courses. Try going to the Notre Dame Home Page and looking at the First Year of Studies page. It should give you all of the info you need. You can list an intended major on the app for admission, but it is not going to affect your admission. Eveyone starts out in First Year of Studies. You do not declare a major until Spring of your freshman year and even then, you may change. Notre Dame is unique in this way--the program gives you plenty of op to discover what major you are interested in w/o penalizing you during the admissions phase. (I know some colleges expect you to apply during admissions to a certain dept based on your major and if accepted, it is sometimes difficult to change-ND is not like that!)

thanks for the through explantion. i actually just spent the last hour exploring the website. its amazing!!! thanks again.
