Please help... Borderline "C" for a class I need to transfer. Should I drop or keep??

Okay so I am taking Pre-Calculus and the drop deadline is next Friday......

And I have a 72% in the class...

We have 2 more exams coming up and a Final that is worth 30% of our grade.

10% quizzes
60% exams
30% final exam

I have a 87% average on the quizzes..

I have gotten so far on the exams:

32/60
35/60
39/60
60/60

on my tests

With the 2 more exams coming up as well as a final worth 30%

I am not sure whether or not I should drop and accept a "W".

I need this class since I TAG'd and I need it to take Calc1 since it's a pre-req.

At this point I will be happy to pass with a C... I am willing to sacrifice a bit of my 3.8 GPA just to pass this class.

What should I do please help...

I am so scared.

I would keep it. If you drop this class it will set you back a year because you’ll need it to take Calc 1. Considering that you still have your final and two exams, there is room for you to possibly squeeze by with a B.

If you’re happy with a C at this point, why drop? Just ride it out and try to get a B. Dropping it will screw up your TAG and you would have to wait another year. Study hard!

Same boat as you Tony. Math is not my favorite subject, but I need to push through Cal 1 & 2 for the Econ major. Getting a C will not get you an immediate rejection from any UCs, especially if you are around a 3.8. Just keep on truckin’ and you will be fine (even if your GPA drops to a 3.75).

Of course, I still need to take the Calcs and pass at least one of them with a B, otherwise my plans for a double major go down the drain.

I know I’m just worried because the stuff we’re learning right now looks really hard. Seems doable but just hard.

The next two tests, I’m not worried about those. I can easily pull off B’s and A’s on them.

It’s the FINAL that’s worth 30% that’s scaring me.

I am trying to figure out what I would need on the final in order to pass the class and so far I have no luck…

You just do some multiplication and addition to find that out dude…

I would keep rather than wait another year

Is a pre-calc class even transferable? I thought non transferable classwork does not get added into your gpa?

Precalculus is a transferable class, yeah.
