<p>My dream school is Berkeley and I reaaaally want to go.... but I have a dilemma</p>
<p>I just got my report card (for soph year in high school)
I have 4 A's, a B, and a C in French
Will the C keep me from getting into Berkeley, even if I get good grades next year?
Should I continue with French next year, with the chance that it will bring down my GPA?
(I will be in French 4 Honors next year)</p>

<p>nah. depends how you do with everything else. way i see it, berk accepts kids with either kickass gpas or kickass in other areas plus a decent gpa. yea.</p>

<p>agj, taking or not taking French is all on you. Do you feel confident? Are you pretty sure you’ll get a C in French 4? Do you really want to learn French?</p>
<p>BTW, I got in with a 3.83 UC GPA, which is relatively low compared to most people who get in. I was strong in ECs and essays, so it counteracted my GPA. Getting one bad grade doesn’t mean Berkeley will reject you. Just make your app as strong as possible.</p>
<p>I took French (against my will), if you have the choice, drop it and do something you’re interested in / good at.</p>
